What is magnesium sulfate and why is it needed?

Magnesium is one of the most important elements on our planet, thanks to which life is possible on it. It is in the human body and takes part in the biochemical reactions of the body, it is necessary for plants to produce chlorophyll, without which photosynthesis and, as a result, fruiting are unthinkable.

Magnesium sulfate is a complex water-soluble mineral fertilizer that improves crop yields. In addition to a 30-40 percent increase in yield, the use of magnesium sulfate as a fertilizer has a positive effect on the palatability of fruits, allows plants to better tolerate cold and drought, and accelerates growth by stimulating the production of starch and sugar.

Agriculture

Magnesium sulfate (magnesium sulphate, magnesia) is a complex mineral fertilizer for agricultural crops, which increases productivity, makes plants more stable, improves the taste of fruits and does not harm the soil. One fertilizer completely covers the need for sulfur and magnesium during the growing season.

Construction

Magnesium sulphate is used in magnesia cement as a “gather”, ensuring instant hardening when mixed with water. It is widely used as a chemical reagent in the construction of foundations for highways and airfields.

Cosmetics production

In the beauty industry, magnesium sulfate, which has previously undergone additional purification, is used as a cosmetic product – Epsom salts. Taking magnesium baths with the use of cosmetics with Epsom salts in the composition has a positive effect on the skin, hair and nails. They prevent premature aging, relieve puffiness, relax and tone muscles.

Chemical industry

Magnesium sulfate is used in the manufacture of paper, synthetic detergents, in the textile industry as a bleaching agent. In the chemical industry, its use is widespread, it is used in technological processes for the production of sulfuric acid and magnesium oxide.

About company

South Ural Plant of Magnesium Compounds launched the production of magnesium sulfate in 2014 on the basis of the boric acid production workshop, which had been mothballed for a long time. The plant and raw materials base are located in the city of Kuvandyk near the Ural mountain range. The re-launch of production was established with the active support of local authorities, as well as the Orenburg Region Development Corporation and ZAO Litosfera. To date, YuUZMS produces and sells more than 1000 tons of Sulphate per month.
