The company “South Ural Magnesium Compounds Plant” was founded in 2014. Today it operates on the basis of the boric acid workshop, which was commissioned in 1965. Since 1997, the production of magnesium sulfate was established in the workshop, and in 2005, due to the lack of raw materials, it was mothballed, and the production of boric acid and magnesium sulfate ceased. In 2014, with the active participation of the Governor and the Government of the Orenburg Region, the Orenburg Region Development Corporation and CJSC “Litosfera”, the company again began to work in the person of South Ural Magnesium Compounds Plant JSC.
The pulp and paper mill includes a direct production building, a borate ore warehouse, a compressor station, a water circulation pump station with a cooling tower, a finished product warehouse, a laboratory, a residential building, storage facilities, and RMM. Before closing, the pulp and paper mill employed 175 people, including 10 engineering and technical workers. Design capacity for boric acid – 10 thousand tons / year, achieved – 12.4 thousand tons / year. The main suppliers of UUZMS include CJSC “Litosfera” and the Mednogorsk Copper Mill.
